Navigate your career with confidence
Outplacement is often a major step, especially after years of dedication within academia. At ProActief, we understand this transition and offer guidance that allows room for grief and perspective. We not only help employees say goodbye, but also build a new, meaningful future.
Our approach
- Personal and tailormade: We tailor each program to the individual and their academic context.
- In control, together with us: We are a partner and coach, always supporting both the employee and the organization.
- Practical and future-oriented: Self-reflection, job application training, and an active approach to the job market.
Types of support
We offer three flexible working methods, which can also be combined:
- Individual coaching: Personal guidance with a permanent coach.
- Workshops: Exchange of experiences and job application skills in small groups.
- The perfect motivation letter
- Transferable skills
- Built a cv that works
- Create opportunities with LinkedIn
- The perfect job interview
- Online guidance: Flexible support via digital tools and online sessions.
Our four-phase outplacement program
We guide employees step by step in their transition to a new future. The program consists of four clear phases:
1. Intake & Plan of Action
A good start is essential. During this phase:
- We take stock of wishes and ambitions.
- We use a scientifically based test to gain insight into motivations and career attitudes.
- We draw up a personal plan of action together.
The intake is also available as a separate service. This is ideal if you want to gain insight before deciding on a full program. If you decide to continue, we will deduct the cost of the intake from the price of the follow-up program.
2. Guidance & Coaching
In this phase, we work on drawing up a personal career profile. This consists of three important components:
Room for personal stories
- Attention to saying goodbye to the familiar work environment.
- Recognition of feelings of loss and uncertainty.
- Working on a new vision for the future that fits the stage of life and personal wishes.
Reassessing knowledge and experience
- Identifying acquired knowledge and expertise.
- Translating academic experience into broadly applicable competencies, such as project-based working, analytical thinking, teaching, and coaching.
- Discovering the strengths and motivation, also outside the academic world.
Strengthening self-confidence and employability
- Discussing and overcoming any limiting beliefs, such as fear of age discrimination.
- Rethinking and developing new perspectives.
3. Job market orientation and practical support
The transition to a new job requires focused action and practical skills. During this phase, our coaches provide support in the following areas:
- Exploring suitable positions and sectors, including outside the university.
- Updating your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile.
- Gaining job application skills, including practicing interviews.
- Learning to use your own network effectively as a valuable search tool.
- The application process and personal branding.
- Bringing together orientation, strategy, and practical implementation for a successful next step.
4. Aftercare
A successful placement is not the end goal.
- We stay in touch after the start of the new job.
- We offer guidance with any challenges in the new work environment.
- We provide support where necessary to ensure a successful transition.
